Because we love nature and our region, we have implemented numerous initiatives to protect the environment, and we have integrated the campsite more generally into a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach, for which we have received several distinctions.
Waste Sorting at Le Transat Campsite
It all starts with the recycling of plastic, glass, metal, as well as shells and biowaste. At Le Transat Campsite, everything is sorted!
You will find a bin for each type of waste in your accommodation, and we provide campers with a sorting bag. You can leave your biowaste either in the composter or help feed the animals at the educational farm during dedicated workshops during the high season: a fun way to raise awareness among young and old!
And the figures prove it: we've reduced the volume of our incinerable waste by 30% in 2 years for all your recycling and composting activities!

Maintenance and development of vegetation at Le Transat campsite
We have planted several dozen trees and shrubs to green all spaces and bring freshness during the summer season. This action facilitates the visits of our friends the birds and insects who find refuge in the houses and birdhouses that we have placed within the green spaces.
The flowers are an integral part of the landscape, adding a touch of color that brightens the paths of the Transat campsite.

Contributing to local commerce directly at the 3-star Le Transat campsite
We offer a grocery store of local products: rillettes, Terrines, biscuits, salts, soaps, wines, Pineau, and beers are all products made on the Île d'Oléron that you can buy directly at the campsite.
And at the snack bar, you can enjoy artisanal ice cream and beers made on the Île d'Oléron.

Preserving natural resources on the Île d'Oléron
In order to limit water and energy consumption, all Accommodations are equipped with LED bulbs and aerators on each tap. All plumbing in the campsite is also insulated. The streetlights illuminating the paths are solar-powered.
High-energy consuming devices have been replaced with low-energy ones.
Limiting fuel use
To reduce greenhouse gas emissions and avoid traffic jams, we offer bike or electric bike rental and provide you with a cycle path map.

We also recommend using the free summer shuttles that pass by the campsite and serve the entire island of Oléron.
Goats and sheep replace lawnmowers to cut the meadow grass: this practice is called eco-grazing.

We travel around the campsite by bicycle or electric car.
Raising awareness among young people about protecting flora and fauna
To help children become ambassadors for environmental protection, we dedicate a workshop to them to explain the principle of sorting and recycling biowaste in animal feed.
We also raise awareness of the rules to follow when protecting the coastline, dunes, and rocky foreshores during our kids' clubs: a program that young children greatly appreciate!

Consideration of our employees or, more generally, the CSR approach at Le Transat campsite
We believe that the more fulfilled our employees are, the better they welcome you! We offer them a progressive training program with a fun induction day. Weekly team meals allow for sharing good times and exchanging ideas.

They participate in the life of the company by being involved in your satisfaction. And they benefit from personalized support in their professional development.
A carefully constructed program!
